Matthew 28:19, 20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commended you.”
Grace Baptist finds its purpose in what Christ commanded of His people.
Go and make disciples!
This purpose is twofold.
First we are to go out into the world and share the Gospel of Christ so that some might be saved from their sins. We must as a local church be concerned for the community that we live in, and show that concern by bringing to them the most important thing we have to offer, the good news of the gospel. Second we are to disciple those who accept what Christ has offered through his life, death and resurrection. Being a believer in Christ Jesus is an awesome and exciting lifelong opportunity to grow and develop into a person that resembles who Christ is. We as a church feel that it is our responsibility to be a part of that aspect in our member’s lives.
Grace Baptist firmly believes that it is God and God alone who saves men from their sins and that no matter what we say or how it’s said, we cannot be given or take any credit for the change that God brings. Instead we rejoice that our Sovereign and Holy God would use us as tools to further His kingdom while we serve Him throughout our lives here on earth.
