Body Building Tips

Body-building Tip #9 – These thoughts are designed to help members of the body at Grace to encourage one another’s faith.

Paul writes in I Th 4:9,10 “Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more,…”

For you to ponder: Apparently there was good evidence of love among members of the church at Thessalonica and to others in the region of Macedonia. Paul reminds them that they were taught by God to love one another. By teaching in His Word and by giving His Son to die for them, they had compelling lessons on love. Paul urged them to love “more and more.”

Tip: Here at Grace it may also be evident that we love one another. But the challenge remains to love “more and more.” There will always be room to show greater love for those around us. The command is clear, the need is great. Loving those around us should be our privilege and joy.

Challenge: May we urge you to make loving one another a priority. Pray that God will increase your desire to love and that you will indeed grow in love for those you worship and serve with here at Grace. Seek opportunities to show love; yes, work at loving. Will you take the challenge? Will you prayerfully consider how you can show more love this week and then start loving?

Body-building Tip #8 – These thoughts are designed to help members of the body at Grace to encourage one another’s faith. I Th 4:18 states – “Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

For you to ponder: These words follow teaching about the rapture of the church when the Lord returns to gather us along with the dead in Christ to be with Him forever. That truth is our blessed hope and gives us strength to keep going when we want to give up. We are going to be with Jesus and our loved ones who have died in Christ! Awesome!

Tip: “…these words” are powerful facts about what awaits us, maybe today! They have great potential to encourage others. Actually God’s Word tells us to talk about Christ’s coming because that can bring such comfort and joy!

Challenge: Are you excited by the possibility that you might see Jesus TODAY? Why not share that joyful anticipation with someone? You may help someone to look beyond the uncertainties of today to the certainty of Christ’s coming.
