Body Building Tips

Body-building Tip #32 (two of two) – These thoughts are designed to help members of the body at Grace to encourage one another’s faith. Romans 15:14 “I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.”

For you to ponder: In the last phrase of this verse, Paul tells the Christians in the church at Rome that they are “able to instruct (or admonish or warn) one another.” He gives two reasons why he is confident they can do this. His first reason is because they are “full of goodness” discussed in tip #31. The second is because they are “filled with all knowledge.” This knowledge did not come from education or intellectual ability. It is the knowledge given to each believer by the grace of God. It is based on the fundamental Truths about God, sin and salvation through Christ.

Tip: Are you saved by the grace of God? Then you have a life-changing, world-shaking, everlasting knowledge that is more significant than what is contained in all the books ever written. Your personal relationship with the God of the universe through the work of His Son provides you with all the knowledge you need to build someone else up in the faith.

Challenge: You don’t need to know “everything” to be used by God In ministering to those around you today. But by God’s grace you know all you need to know to be used of Him to build up the body of Christ. Will you share just some of what you “know” and trust God to bless your efforts?

Body-building Tip #31 (one of two) – These thoughts are designed to help members of the body at Grace to encourage one another’s faith.

His first reason is because they are “full of goodness.” This does not mean that they were perfect or that they always did what was good. They were good because of the grace of God and the work of the Spirit. They were full of goodness because they were dependent on the Giver of every good gift to provide that goodness through faith. They were good because they realized that there was no good within themselves apart from that which God had provided. They realized that only God could fulfill every resolve they had to do good.

Tip: Are you able to encourage someone else in the faith? If you realize that what you have to share, what is good, comes from God and if you share in conscious dependence on God, then indeed God can use you to impact someone else for eternal good.

Challenge: A key to body-building is being aware that you are sharing God’s goodness that is filling your life every day. Good words are not made up. They are simply sharing the good things God has done and is doing in your life by grace.
